Hi everyone, I'm Gyanee, and welcome to my little corner of the internet!
About me: 1,54m of passion and sweetness!

I'm a pastry chef from Mauritius with a a little global flair. I hold a Bachelor's degree in French Pastry Arts from the École Ducasse and have had the incredible opportunity to hone my skills working alongside Michelin-starred chefs in both France and Germany. Currently, I'm the Senior CDP in Pastry at La Dame de Pic at One&Only One Za’abeel.
When I'm not busy crafting delectable desserts, you can find me diving into a good book, cleaning, I clean a lot lol, swimming, hiking, playing chess or badminton, and exploring new places whenever time and budget allow (a common challenge in the hospitality industry!).
My pastry journey officially began on April 18th, 2017, and it's been a challenging, yet incredibly rewarding ride. I know I still have so much to learn and grow.
This blog is inspired by some wise words from Chaya, my mentor, during my time in France:
"Share your story and inspire more passionate people."
She was absolutely right. I am a strong believer that sharing knowledge and experiences is essential for growth in this profession. It’s what allowed me to come so far. I actually started a blog back in April 2021, but it was short-lived. Now, I'm back – a little more mature, a little more experienced, and even more determined.
